OLD DAWG BLUEGRASS

Old Dawg Bluegrass consists of four veteran musicians who have deep roots and a passion for bluegrass music but have successfully created a fusion of traditional bluegrass and gospel music with a mix of folk, jazz, country, blues, and rock and roll.  In the three years they have been together, their performances are an edgy "you gotta hear this band" high-energy blend of tight, three and four part harmonies and hot instrumental breaks laced with lots of humor and stories.  They use the old style single microphone technique for vocals and instrumentals that adds a visual appeal to the band as they weave in and out around the microphone.

Arvilla Pritchard of the The Post Journal says,
“The group’s musicality makes them a delight to listen to and their zest for performing makes them entertaining to watch."

Robert Waite from the Cattauraugus Historical Society writes, "I would like to thank you on behalf of the Cattauraugus Historical Society for your wonderful program.  What beautiful music."

Liz Allen, Co-Director of the 2009 Wild Wind Arts and Craft Festival writes, “ We really enjoyed having you with us at the Festival.  It was just the type of music that fits the atmosphere of the show and you were well received!”

Norman Carlson from the Busti Historical Society (2009 Busti Apple Festival) writes, "Old Dawg Bluegrass Band added immensely to the spirit and enjoyment of the festival...They were among the most praised elements of the festival."

The chemistry and hard work of these four musicians is unmistakable when they perform. They are not afraid to experiment with a blend of traditional and non-traditional music that has become Old Dawg Bluegrass.
